The hawthorn tree has quite a history. It is a fairy tree and it has a male spirit residing in it. Hawthorne berries are allegedly good for the heart (always talk to a qualified professional before touching anything as many plants are in fact poisonous). But the hawthorn also has much darker associations by tradition as well.
